Yes, I'm getting old....

Our little fam on my b-day!
Gavin and I
Mommy and the girls....
Abby at Thanksgiving Point

At our fav restaurant, Tucanos!

So I turned 25 yesterday, so weird to think about :) I know I am not that old, but sometimes I feel like it being a Mom. Thanks to everyone for gifts and phone calls, I love hearing from everyone! I have such a great family and great friends!

Gavin was cute and made me a nice breakfast and even bought me a cake, good hubby, huh! He also got me a few shirts because they were BOGO free and some pretty jewelry and of course the best present, CANDY!

We went to Thanksgiving Point during the day with the girlies and then went to dinner at Tucanos because I get a free birthday meal, not to mention it is the best restaurant around.

We came back home and Gavin and I had some alone time, so we watched 2 movies, which never happens :)

It was a great day!

My Mom was sweet, she made me an adorable homemade cake a few days before and brought me a nice gift. It means so much when your Mom does that because I don't get those things anymore now that I am the mom. She is so sweet, I hope I am just as good to my kids someday!

Birthdays make me realize how fast time is flying by and how fast our girls are growing. I need to make the most out of everyday!

GAVIN IS 26!!!!!!

Gavin turned 26 this past Tuesday (the 11th) and his Birthday always falls on finals week, so he never really gets to enjoy the day. One reason we look forward to being done with school one day. Amid studying for finals, we took Gavin to our favorite restaurant, Tucanos, and then walked around the mall until we couldn't take the girls screaming anymore :) We love Gavin! He's geezin' it now, lol :)
Bailey and I at the mall, watching Abby run around like a crazy girl in the play area
Gavin in his new birthday shirt, I picked it out :) I hope I have good taste and that he isn't just being a nice husband by saying he likes it :)
Opening presents... I got Gavin 26 little gifts (and a few bigger ones) and put them all in a box, granted most of them were like candy, shavers, etc, but that is what we can afford right now, lol.
Don't you love my beautiful wrapping job? I was up until 12:30 a.m. wrapping all 26 little gifts, so I was a little tired by the time i got to wrapping the big box they were all in. I stopped caring, sad I know. Gavin looks a little disappointed too, lol.

Family Fun

WARNING: A FEW PICS ARE OUT OF ORDER, BARE WITH ME, I AM TIRED :)

FIRST PIC IS OF ABBY AT THE DINOSAUR MUSEUM AT THANKSGIVING POINT.

My sister, Lisa, and her cute family have been in town this week and we have had LOTS going on with my family. My sister, Mary, blessed their new baby girl this past Sunday and it was fun to have the family all together. We also went to the Dinosaur Museum on Tuesday with my sister's families. Gavin's Birthday was also this past Tuesday, pics to follow in another post....
Abby and cousin, Henry, at Jane's baby blessing
Bailey at the Dinosaur Museum, she wants to EAT everything in sight lately, here she is reaching for a tasty bight of what appears to be a wooden bench, mmmmmm.
My family at Jane's baby blessing
Josh, Mary, and baby Jane, isn't she cute? None of us can get over how much hair she has ;)

Swinging at Grama Colliers

We got to stay with Gavin's parents last weekend and the girls LOVED playing on the swing set. Abby didn't want to go inside, go figure. Bailey even enjoyed the baby swing (and also she enjoyed her thumb, the two are inseparable, lol).
Nothin' beats the thumb :)

It was fun to spend time with Gavin's parents and the girls got lots of kisses and squeezes as you can imagine :) Abby calls Gavin's older brother, Brian, "Manny" for some reason and she kept walking around the house say "Manny", it made us laugh.

Our busy week...

Besides being busy with the girlies, this week was pretty crazy!

I had a crown put on a tooth on Monday, not too fun. Also, quite the expensive ordeal. Gavin was not too happy about the bill, oops :)

Bailey had her 9 month checkup! She is growing up on us fast!

I got my visiting teaching done all in the same day this week, that felt good :)

Friday night we went and saw the new Harry Potter movie, which was SO GOOD!!! I'm a nerd, but I love the Harry Potter movies :) Gavin let me pick the movie this time, good boy. This was our first date in a few months, so it was a nice break. OH I almost forgot, about halfway through the move the little boy behind us started barfing, I felt bad for him, but at the same time we were pretty grossed out, lol. So that was pleasant.

Saturday (today) we took the girls swimming at the Veterans Pool in Provo, they loved it! Gavin and I are pasty white, so our backs got fried, lol. We needed the sun exposure :)

It was a fun week! Gavin has about 2 weeks left in the semester, yay! He has been so busy this semester, and it will get even harder hear on out until he finishes his Bachelors. Not looking forward to it :)

PS-Lisa (my talented older sister) made that cute headband Bailey is wearing in the picture above.

PS #2- I think Bailey's hair is kind of curly/wavy, yay! I can't wait to see how it comes in as it gets thicker :) Abby's hair is just straight as can be, so it will be fun to play with Bailey's curls :)

Finally starting to crawl!

So Bailey just turned 9 months old yesterday (which we still can't believe) and she also started to crawl FORWARD finally, not just backwards, lol. She is also sitting on her own now and says "dadda" all day. Tonight I did hear her say "mamma" a few times, that was a bit moment for me. After all, who is the one who is with her all the time, ME!!!! Why do they always have to say Dadda first? We love our Bailey girl!

24th Festivities with the fam

So for all the mothers out there, there is a fun and FREE water play area in Highland, right next to the main shopping area, where they have a fun stream and water fountain for kids to play in. Again, it is FREE, and Abby didn't want to leave :) We went here on the evening of the 24th with all my family and the kids and my parents and the kids all loved it!

My cute Mom with the Bailey girl.......
Abby screaming in the water, she didn't like this part too much :)
Bailey kind of liked the water, but didn't like sitting in it. She was okay with her toes touching the water, but that was it :)
The cousins (Emily, Alli, Debbie, and Abby) having a good time in the water
Me
Gavin running with Abby, she was having a blast!
We also went on a fun hike/picnic up by Brighton Ski Resort with the fam. It was so fun! There were lots of misquotes to keep us moving quickly though.
Our little fam on the hike
Ryans, Colliers, Gilletts....

What the girls were up to last week...

So we found Bailey sitting up in her bassinet, it is time to move on to the crib :) we haven't done the switch yet because Abby can clime into her crib, so we were worried about them sharing a room. So for now she is in our pack and play and she loves being able to roll around and spread out.

Abby LOVES putting on all of my shoes, but I was a little surprised to see her in my black boots, she keeps us laughing.

These two keep us busy and we love them so much. All the cute and funny things they do make up for the crying and screaming. Yes, some days are long, but they are so worth it!
In Relief Society today we talked about how as mothers and wives we are part of a great work, even if it doesn't seem like it because of all the small tasks we have to do every single day. I totally needed this lesson because there are days when I feel like all I do is change diapers and make meals and clean, etc. It becomes easy to think that I am not accomplishing much of anything, just doing busy work. But I had the thought during our lesson today about how I am so thankful that my own Mother staid home with us through all of our growing up years and how she did such a great job of being a great mother, wife, and took care of the house and made time for each of her children. I don't view the things she did as small or unimportant, I completely appreciate her example and through her hard work I felt loved. She worked so hard to make our home a happy place and was always there for me growing up. I want to be like this for my kids and husband. Her example helps me to see that what I am doing as a Mother is so important.

I just need to remind myself everyday that what I am doing is important and that Heavenly Father is proud of my choice to be a mother and wife and all I do to better our family life is so important. He supports us through it all and he knows how much we can handle.

Just some thoughts!
