Abby Starts Kindergarten!!

Yes, it's true, Abby started Kindergarten this Wednesday!  She was so excited the night before and morning of school, and then had a hard time once we got to school.  It was kind of chaotic on the playground, and I think Abby was feeling overwhelmed and didn't realize we would be leaving here there :)  She started crying while standing in line with her class and didn't want to let go of me once I went over to help cheer her up.  Her Principal was wonderful and took her from me to help her into the classroom.

Today went a little better, she cried a little bit and got in some more "mom hugs", but did okay when we came up to the door of the building.

Overall, I think she is enjoying it, but is still getting use to things.  Meanwhile, Gavin and I are still in shock that she is old enough to be in school.  We love our sweet Abby and are so excited for the experiences she has ahead of her in school!

Just a few thoughts

It's 12:30 a.m., just finished working on some Etsy orders, and came to finish up my work online.  And all I can think about is our sweet Abby girl.  Hard to believe she starts Kindergarten in 2 days, and harder to believe she has grown up so quickly.  Where has the time gone?  I feel like she was just born yesterday!

Looking back through these pictures of her, I remember each little stage she has gone through and I miss my sweet baby girl some days.  We were little buddies her first year because Gavin was really busy with school and work.  We lived on the top, 3rd floor of an apartment complex in Riverton until she was about 6 months old, and then moved down to Provo to attend BYU.  When I look back at these pictures, it reminds me of how she has always beemed with happiness and has this sweet and also determined spirit about her.

Bailey was born in October of 2008, so they were just 20 months apart.  I was so thrilled to have two beautiful daughters.  I remember after Bailey was born, my Mom had been staying with Abby until we came home from the hospital, and when I came home to her, I just balled.  I didn't want her to feel any less important to me or to feel replaced.  And to my surprise, she was so thrilled to be a big sister!  She would lay right next to Bailey and play by her all day.  Now, these two girls are inseperable :)  They have been eachother's little best friend.  You can see in the pictures how much they love eachother, and I am so grateful for it.

Hallie was born in October of 2010, and I remember Abby was SO excited to meet her for the first time and wanted to hold her so badly.   You can see how happy she was to finally meet her at the hospital.  These pictures are so precious to me now.  It is so easy to forget how blessed I have been over the past 5 years.  Abby has become such a sweet big sister and really looks out for her little sisters.  This morning, Abby came in to tell me that the Tooth Fairy had left Bailey and Hallie money!  (she had laid out her quarters on their pillows, and this is the money she has earned from doing little jobs for me).  It was so cute of her :)

Anyway, this is getting sappy, and I don't mean to be too emotional about this :)  I guess what I'm getting at is that I hope I have done a good job so far as her mother.  I hope our influence on her has been a positive one and will continue to be.  She is SO ready to be in school and I can't wait to see her experience it.

And that is enough of this emotional mother...good night.
